System requirements
Camera
The SDK requires a camera device that can be accessed via native platform APIs and provides stable 30 FPS video with the resolution of at least 640x480 pixels.
Note that a higher quality camera sensor can enable more accurate measurements under worse light and stability conditions.
No additional equipment is required beyond a smartphone, tablet or computer with a compatible video camera.
Network
Internet connectivity is required:
- when installing a mobile application containing Shen.AI (CE);
- whenever Shen.AI (CE) is used in a web application;
- for license validation when the mobile application is first launched and once every three days thereafter.
- when native SDKs first retrieve instructions for a language or download an updated document;
- when opening instructions in the Web SDK.
On native platforms, the last downloaded and verified instruction document remains available when the network is unavailable. On Web, instructions open in a fullscreen overlay using the browser’s PDF viewer. If the preview is unavailable or incomplete, use Open PDF to open the document in a new tab. Browser support determines the available PDF controls.
Web integrations with a Content Security Policy must allow https://storage.googleapis.com in connect-src and
blob: in frame-src. The overlay supports style-src 'self' without an inline-style exception or nonce: its styles
use constructed stylesheets (CSSStyleSheet.replaceSync and ShadowRoot.adoptedStyleSheets), available in the supported
Chromium browsers and Safari 16.4 or newer.
Internet connectivity is optional for telemetry and crash reporting.
Beyond that, there are minimum requirements depending on the target platform.
Android SDK
The following are minimal required specifications for the native Android SDK, either used directly or through the Flutter/React Native wrappers:

Note that CPU instructions sets older than arm64-v8a are not currently supported.
iOS SDK
The following are minimal required specifications for the native iOS SDK, either used directly or through the Flutter/React Native wrappers:
Minimum supported iOS version is 14.0.
Minimum supported iPhone model is iPhone X.
Web
The Web SDK supports desktop web browsers.
Client browser requirements
The Web version of the SDK utilizes some of the recent web standards in order to make high-performance computations in the browser possible. Browser support for those features varies.
Required browser features
The following features must be available on the client browser in order to use the SDK:
- Support for SharedArrayBuffer
- Support for WebGL 2.0
- Support for OffscreenCanvas
- Support for either requestVideoFrameCallback or MediaStreamTrackProcessor
Supported browsers
The following desktop browsers are supported:
- Chrome 94 or newer
- Edge 94 or newer
- Opera 80 or newer
Operational environment
Shen.AI (CE) is intended for use in a home environment with:
- uniform lighting without shadows or flickering;
- recommended antivirus software;
- recommended anti-malware software;
- a recommended firewall;
- a network that supports SSL-encrypted transmission.
